Recovery plan 'Flemish Resilience' and BlueApp

In the framework of the Flemish recovery plan 'Flemish Resilience', BlueApp receives a subsidy to build lab infrastructure. This grant also includes budget for 5 Proof of Concept projects (PoC). In light of this call, by the time BlueApp opens (spring 2022), we are already planning to start some concrete collaborations between the university and companies. To do this, we need your help.

BlueApp aims to demonstrate technology and strengthen the collaboration between companies and UAntwerpen. We focus on sustainable chemistry in the broad sense of the word, but for this call we are specifically looking for project proposals within the domains of 'Clean Air' and 'Air as a Raw Material'.

Projects in two domains

Clean air

Innovative technologies and materials for good indoor and outdoor air quality. This concerns the purification of a wide range of contaminants such as fine dust, O3, VOCs to micro-organisms as well as avoiding or reducing the emission of these pollutants.

Air as a raw material

Recovering CO2, nitrogen and other components from the air and converting the obtained waste flows into new raw materials in order to build circular systems.

Practical details and survey

  • Survey: Before we launch the PoC call, we want to gauge your interest and ideas with a survey.
  • Live workshop: On 18 January, we will bring you together with researchers and other companies to stimulate cross-fertilisation between the research and business worlds through various formats. This is also the kick-off for the call
  • Deadline: In the course of March so we can award the projects at the latest in April.
  • Budget: The researchers receive a budget of €100k from the recovery plan. From companies, we expect a total contribution of €25k (in kind or in cash).
  • Duration: one year

So keep 18 January between 1 and 5 p.m. free in your agenda and fill out the survey (click here or find the link at the bottom of this blog).
We are looking forward to your feedback!
